Not long ago I was reading a blog at Sloppychic about how she makes her own Roti Canai from those instant you get from supermarket. Before this, I never believe you can get anything decent from all these instant food so I will always rather pay someone to cook for me instead.
But after reading that, and with some “thinking”, what the heck.. lets try it!
So I went to Jusco and picked the most decent looking packaging believing that the nicer the package the tastier the food. Then we needed curry, following Sloppychic advise, I bought a instant curry chicken too! Never in my life I had imagine I would actually eat instant curry.

Now for the cooking part I’m excited. When I eat Roti Canai I like it to be crispy, and most of the times those you eat outside is not crispy enough. So being a bit greedy, I purposely cook it longer to get that texture.

The cooking part was easy.. flip flip.. and flip flip.. But somehow the outcome doesn’t look like the real thing. Then i realized….

Yeah.. a good Roti Canai need some spanking! So following the mamak style.. I gave the Roti Canai a good beating.. muahahaha! Now it looks more like it!
( Fast spanking needed else it burns your palm…
)

Overall, the Roti Canai tasted pretty nice. It’s actually tasted better than some of the bad mamak out there that serve you cold-soggy-lempek-readied-made Roti Canai. But the instant curry that I bought tasted weird.. yucks..
I think next time I have to cook my own curry chicken to go with the Roti Canai or come out with ways to fusion it with western style cooking so stay tune!

hahah….spanking roti canai part..funny…but wats said here about the instant roti canai is true. I have bought some instant ones, even Giant instant roti canai also is better than the ones selling at some mamak.
But instant curry, not a fan of that. I’ll do in desperate times i guess. But on other times, cook ur own curry. More yummy with the roti canai. Plus no need to drive out to and get your clothes all smell of mamak spices in order to eat roti canai.
yup.. next time i will make my own curry.. quite easy!! just buy the DIY mixture from pasar spice aunty!!
