
Steamed chicken, a popular dish during Chinese festival. The chicken itself is tasteless except for maybe the chicken own natural taste, but the main attraction is the accompany dipping sauce for the otherwise plain chicken. The sauce can be as simple as soya sauce, to with some addons like onion or ginger and such, or my favorite the ultimate version which contains everything!
I like the ultimate because it is so flavorful and full with yummyness… I stirfry lots of minced garlic, minced onion, minced ginger, then mix together with scallion and coriander. Add soya sauce, pepper and oyster sauce for the whole she bang…

I boiled the chicken with plain water but fearing for tasteless chicken, I added some chicken stock cube, chinese herb and salt. Then in order not to waste the chicken essence, I reused the water from boiling the chicken and make a simple cabbage soup for a complete meal.

It was my first time preparing such dish and chopping a whole chicken… lots of trial and error. Lucky the guest of honor gave her approval!
