13OctBak Kut Teh Homecook!

BKT was never a to-die-for meal for me until I discovered how good is it when you go with the raw garlic. Ya ya.. i know, BKT has been served with raw garlic all the while. I don’t have a habit to eat raw garlic when eating meal so BKT to me is just “herbal pork soup”.. no kick.. no fire.. Until one day, I tried to eat BKT with the raw garlic like how it suppose to be eaten and oh my gosh… i’m addicted!

One of my most favorite BKT stall is the one near Kelana Jaya LRT facing the LDP main road. Good service, nice garlic and soysauce, super nice chinese tea and near my place. I frequent them at least 6 times a month. They sell pre-packed BKT ingredient for you to cook at home too and so I bought one pack and try.

Pour all the ingredients and lots of pork and just boil it for couple of hours. I added taufu-pok and fu-jok since it is my favorite too.

And for the rice, some stall serve white rice, some serve “yellow” rice ala chicken rice, while some serve white rice mix with fried shallot oil which I like the most. So, I fry lots of shallot and add some garlic for extra kick. After you are done, just add the shallot into the cooked rice and season it with salt to your taste before serve. Super yummy!
