I have heard good review about this restaurant for quite some time and has always wanted to try it. Finally, on a special occasion we head to Bubba Gump to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I was excited about this place as it serves seafood type western fare coz’ I’m so bored with all those chicken/beef from those Chilis, TGIF and etc all these years. These little ugly looking “worm” may look disgusting but sea cucumber is consider one of the expensive delicacy and it has great healing benefits. Sea cucumber are actually marine life that found on the floor bed of the sea feeding on the debris like a scavenger.
If you look at a life one, you may have second thought about eating it. But luckily I have long eaten it when small and have no idea what it was back then. I always like to braise my sea cucumber with oyster sauce together with other seafood ingredients and you will end up with a wonderful pot of extremely tasty seafood dish. Feeling adventurous, I tried something I haven’t try before. I have cook spaghetti many times but it was tomato based every single time using Prego sauce.
I bought my first bottle of Olive oil. Oh boy, this oil is freaking expensive compare to the normal cooking oil I have been using. All this while, I couldn’t bother with olive oil until I watch the series by Gordon Ramsey whereby it is used extensively because of how incredible healthy it is. I actually thought of substituting all my cooking oil with olive oil before I set out to buy a bottle. Of course this is before I’m aware how expensive olive oil is in Malaysia.
In the end, I bought a small bottle of 500ml for my Italian project.

The ingredients after chopped and marinated.

I’m quite satisfied with my first attempt. My wife commented is a bit too dry. I guess I was too stingy on the olive oil.
