02JulBrussels Beer Cafe, Jaya One - RM15 Set Lunch

Yet another good offer that I recently discovered while exploring Jaya One, PJ. The other night I was dining at Jaya One and came across this Beer cafe that was heavily packed with people chit-chatting and drinking beers. It was so packed, it made the Starbucks next to it look pale in comparison. While they are focusing on beer, they also sell some overly pricey food when I was scouting their menu. But the good news is, their set lunch is pretty cheap and amazing at RM15 per pax NETT!!

Their set lunch is only from Monday to Friday and each day, there are 2 main course to choose from. For RM15, you get a glass of soft drink, a main course, a bowl of salad and no tax!. Pretty worth it isn’t it.

I have visited them twice in a week trying their different menu. The first time, I had the Pork Bacon burger, good portion and it was very delicious. Too bad I forgot to bring my camera that day as I didn’t expect to dine in such places.

So, I came back again on Tuesday and this time with a camera. For drinks, you get to choose any soft drinks including ice lemon tea. And they actually put a lemon slice in your drinks to spice it up. Nice job!

Their salad bar is quite extensive, better than the Secret of Louisiana buffet the other day.

They have a slight change in menu on Tuesday. The Seafood Aglio Olio looks delicious with lots of stuffs like the big prawns..:D The taste is alright.

The other choice was the Roast Lamb Rack with Mint Sauce. Honestly, I don’t really eat lamb or any semi raw meat. But because of this blog, I sacrificed and ordered my first lamb dish ever in my life. It looks amazing when it was served but after I cut it into half and seeing the pink raw meat in the middle.. I was like.. oh boy… But still I tried to finish it and it wasn’t as scary as what I imagined. But I think next time I’m sticking to chicken or pork…:P

The food presentation and taste is of those semi fine dining. So the set lunch is quite a deal considering also you don’t have to pay 15% taxes like most places. I’m not a lamb person so I can’t comment on my dish, but my wife commented that her Aglio Olio is very oily. Judging from the amount of oil we saw, we hope they really use olive oil and not some cheap cooking oil..:)

Here is a complete selection of main course for each day of the week so that you can plan which day you want to come.

I also saw a few other bars and cafe over there offering similar set lunch. I’m going to try them out next time.
