01JulBetty’s Midwest Kitchen, Dataran Prima, PJ

I have heard a lot of good reviews about this place nearby my house, Betty’s Midwest Kitchen is situated next to Dataran Prima is offering all sorts of western food as what they claimed, America On A Plate…

So I gathered a few of my colleague and set on a date for a dinner gathering after work. Getting here is not an issue if you manage to survive the LDP jam, parking is not an issue also as there are ample free parkings around.

Choices on the menu is not little but certainly not extensive enough for the tagline America On A Plate. I believe they are still expanding the menu as they have been seperately promoting new items that is not on the menu.

We placed our orders and patiently waiting for our food and it doesn’t takes long. Service was good too with waitress giving us recommendation and attending to our needs.

All of us ordered their house specialty Lemonade labeled as Must Try. However it was pretty average ony… but at least doesn’t cost you a bomb like some restaurant that likes to charge a lot on beverages.

After much recommendation from the waitress, I ordered the new dish that was not on the menu, Beer Battered Fish and Cheap. The portion was huge… actually too huge and best of all it was only lightly coated. Most bad fish and chip comes so thick in flour batter that just turn me off. While eating this, each bite was full of the real thing, the fish meat!

Daniel ordered the Grilled Baby Back Ribs… not sure how good was it but I didn’t hear any complains from him. Daniel, how was your baby ribs?

As for the Country Fried Chicken, the fried chicken is average but the gravy was extremely good. Compare to the one in Chilis at double the price, this can consider pretty good for the price.

My wife ordered the Pan Fried Pork Chop with Orange Cream, looking similar to the Country Fried Chicken except being pork. While certainly you can taste some orange flavour in it, but they should at least decorate it more uniquely.

Eugene had the pork burger… kinda huge, bigger than Bigmac!

The taste of the food is on the good side, everyone had a plate-licking-good dinner…

The food presentation is pretty normal but for the price you are paying, no complaints. Pork dishes are around RM20-30 while chicken dishes from RM12-20. The seating capacity is around 10 tables only so do come early or make a reservation first.
