23JunPao Xiang Bak Kut Teh, 1Utama

When you think of good BKT, usually wooden roof in some rural area or some place hot and crowded comes in to mind. Now if you willing to spend a bit more, you can have your weekly (or daily) BKT dosage fixed at a nice environment with air-conditioning inside 1 Utama..

Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh is located in the basement level of 1U between the new and old wing. It is well hidden away from the main walk way so unless you look up the directory, high chance you will miss it.

The idea of wrapping your meat with a string is something new to me hence I decided to give it a try. However, depending on which part of the meat you are ordering, you may not have a meat prepared in such a unique way. You can choose any parts you want and each choice costs you from RM10 onwards for a rather small bowl.

Unlike other BKT where you have other side ingredients in your pot of BKT, over here you only get what you order so prepare to spend quite a bit.

The soup is rather thick and is not bad. A plus point is each serving comes with a candle below the bowl to maintain the heat of the soup.

While certainly this BKT is rather good, but the price is really on the high side. Be prepare to order as least 3-4 bowls of meat for 2 person eating, so you are really looking at around RM25~ per pax. I guess I will stick back to my favourite BKT at LDP…
