13SepHing Ket Grill House, Klang

One of the weekend, I got invited by a friend to join them for dinner in a place far far away. Yeah it was very far as I don’t really venture into Klang for food. Initially I turned down the invitation but upon checking up reviews and blogs about the place they are going, I couldn’t resist the temptation of some super delicious (looking at the pictures) grilled seafood. So off we go, 40 minutes drive from my home to Hing Ket Grill House in Klang.

Finding the place wasn’t hard as my friend is pretty familiar with Klang. But finding a carpark at the restaurant is horrendous. Being just next to the main road, basically there isn’t any parking spot around the restaurant except the few miserable parking spot inside the compound area.

We arrived quite early before the crowd and we didn’t wait long for our food. I read couple of blogs on the day before I went, and all of them said one thing, the grill lamb is superb! And is the main reason people going there. While my wife and I don’t really eat lamb, so our friends ordered a small portion for themselves while we thinking just nickpick a small bite for the sake of “I’m been there” kind of thing.

The grill lamb (RM15 for 2pax) arrived first and by just looking at it, it doesn’t look that delicious at all. But upon eating my first bite, oh wow.. superb! For being a non-lamb eater, I ended up eating almost the entire plate!! Strong in marination, flavorful, no “lamb” smell and is cooked well done.

For grilled seafood, we ordered stingray, squid and prawn. The stingray (RM14 for 2pax) was still juicy despite being flame grilled and was actually quite nice.

The grilled prawn (RM6 each) look delicious but I think it was overcooked as the meat was kinda solid. It was also quite pricey as the prawn is just average big.

The grilled squid (RM8/pax) here was surprisingly good, flavourful and not too hard. I have eaten this type of sotong before in some Thai restaurant and most of them were just blant and hard to chew. The accompany sauce was also wonderful.

We also ordered 2 fried noodles, yam noodle and glass noodle which was recommended by blogs. However, I must say it was just average. I think next time I’m sticking to grill food only and of course more lamb!!

Overall, the food is above average and I like flame grill food as you can get to taste those tasty “smoky burnt” flavour in meat. I wanted to come back again, but dang.. it is so far!! omigawd…
